DX QSL Cards
Posted herein are some of my DX QSL cards I have had the opportunity to collect over the years. These are, as the saying goes, 'a drop in the bucket' but are here to represent my rather extensive QSL card collection. I have placed these here not to brag or gloat but to inspire others so that the new and not so new ham will extend the ultimate courtesy of a contact - the QSL card. These cards also demonstrate how one can still work DX on bands that appear to be dead as well as working some of these stations without an amplifier.
One of my very most prized QSL cards is from JY1, now a silent key. I worked King Hussein of Jordan while holding my former callsign of KB4USW back in 1998 on 20 meter phone. This prized QSL was not always given out by King Hussein making it even more valuable to me personally. As a precaution I keep the card in the original envelope as I received it from WA3HUP, King Hussein's stateside QSL manager. I then place this inside of a ziplock bag which is then placed inside of another sturdier plastic envelope. One more precaution I use is that I don't allow everyone to freely handle the QSL, even the thought of a bent corner on this beautiful QSL would be unthinkable. Now with my web site I can post the QSL online for on and all to see as often as they like.
